Biography: Professor Guo‑Ping Liu is a Chair Professor at the School of Automation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Southern University of Science and Technology. He earned his PhD from the University of Manchester, UK, followed by post‑doctoral research at the University of York. He is a Member of the Academy of Europe, IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow and CAA Fellow, and previously held senior academic positions at multiple British universities, accumulating extensive experience leading national and international research projects funded by UK EPSRC, European Framework Programmes and industrial partners. His core research covers networked control systems, multi‑agent systems, intelligent decision‑making for complex systems, energy‑internet control and industrial internet‑of‑things technologies, with substantial theoretical contributions and practical engineering applications in advanced industrial control. He has received two Second‑Class National Science and Technology Awards in China, the Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship, and has been recognised as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher for his scholarly output.
